USPA NEWS - As of August 26th, the evacuation of more than 330 properties has been executed, and the ongoing wildfire activity renders it uncertain when residents will be permitted to return home.

The Long Lake wildfires complex remains uncontained, with an estimated size of 8,026 hectares. Sunday's damage assessment is ongoing. We will refrain from sharing structure loss numbers until all affected residents have been notified.

Firefighting efforts are currently focused on the east side of Paradise Lake, aiming to prevent the fire from spreading to Trout Lake. Air resources: 6 helicopters, 6 planes, plus bird dogs. Ground resources: 56 DNR, 62 Ontario, and 47 local firefighters, along with heavy equipment operators. The next update will be released this afternoon.
Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 Noon Update: As of the current update, the Long Lake wildfires complex, spanning approximately 8,026 hectares, remains out of control. Assessment efforts are ongoing to determine the extent of Sunday's damage. Structure loss details will be shared with affected residents before being made publicly available.
As of 16:29 on August 26th: No changes have been reported in the size or status of the Long Lake wildfires complex. Crews and heavy equipment are continuing to make progress, working around the perimeter and focusing on the east side of Paradise Lake. Planes, which were temporarily grounded due to weather, are now operational and working in tandem with helicopters. The next update is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
